Chalki is located in the centre of the island, 16km from Chora. The small village was capital of Naxos, today is administrative centre of Drimalia. And it is one of the must-visit places on the island.
The village of Chalki is pretty small but you will be impressed by its charm – tiny colourful streets, neoclassic houses, kind people who will welcome you.
The most picturesque village is also great place for a shopping tour – there are handmade shops where you can find a lot of art pieces, souvenirs, clothes and etc.
Don`t miss the chance to visit the Vallindra Kitron distillery. You can get a tour and see how the famous Kitron liqueur is produced from Citron leaves.
You can also visit churches and old Venetian towers in the area. One of them is the oldest church in Naxos – the Church of Panagia, dating from 9th century.
P.S: I hope you had fun and if you are going to visit Naxos, check out my other posts about the island! If you need any suggestions and tips text me on my social media 🙂
